The Night of Asia festival is on it’s third year of celebrating the vibrant and rich Asian culture in Jacksonville. As with many young festivals, they are growing fast and have some growing pains. Just two years ago, they had an attendance of six hundred. Expecting a crowd of two thousand this year, they moved the venue to Celebration Church (a mega church). The food vendors were in the atrium area, but I never saw any of them, as the crowd was closer to five thousand. We forced our way through the crowd and into the theater, and waited for the show.
Indeed the show was worth the wait; with rumbling, empty stomachs, we were amazed by martial arts demonstrations, acrobats, dancers, singers, and even yo-yo’s! (trust me, the yo-yo’s were a crowd favorite)! The lighting was brutal for taking sharp photos, but I feel we got a few worth viewing. Enjoy these images, and check for the links below to join us next year!
